Bob Smith’s Split Bamboo Fly Rods and Reels
Bob Smith was an Arctic/Canadian bush pilot/waterfowl biologist for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. He was also a storyteller and author of Native Trout of North America, fisherman, sportsman enthusiast and collector.
Bob Smith’s fly rods were transported on pack horses and in seaplane hulls from the Sierra Madre in Mexico to the High Arctic. They helped Bob catch and record all 40 remaining races of wild trout on this continent, and he faithfully recorded his quest in his delightful book, Native Trout of North America.
